  My Vision Quest
Ten years ago today, actually this morning, I set off and what was likely for me a "vison quest". I set off for Nashua, New Hampshire and a six-month internship with Cabletron Systems.

Just getting there was a two-day affair. The first day had me going from Farrell, PA to Wilkes-Barre, and the second had me going from Wilkes-Barre to Concord, New Hampshire. My Cousin and his wife put me up for a few days until I could move into my place in Nashua.

Which was in retrospect a dump! It was actually a "residential hotel", where people paid by the month. My furniture was a sofa that folded out into a bed(I think), a small TV table, and a TV tray for me to eat off of. I didn't have cable, so I watched a LOT of Public Broadcasting.

But I did keep busy. I studied Kenpo Karate, volunteered with the Democratic Party, and discovered I had a talent for poetry. Well at some level, I'm still doing all three; I'm now a student of Aikido, am active in anti-war activites, and still write poetry.

In the months to come--I'll be telling tales of all of these and trying to remember stuff about my co-workers.
