One Day My Mind Opened Up

  Full Steam Ahead
My mind of late has been going at a mile a second!

I have my new web language (SMIL) and will be trying to teach myself JavaScript and a music program called Audacity.

I also have a few post to make to another 'blog, one on my Nephew and one on Senator McCarthy (long story--OK).

I just need to slow my head down for the weekend.

  Running Wide Open
I can honestly say that I may be on the edge of something HUGE.

I was supposed to be at home, getting ready to watch my Alma Mater's homecoming game, alas my car insurance premium doubling and some other financial difficulties kept me here in Camp Hill, PA.

But I still took the day off at FedEx, and started on a kind of self-paced "Boot Camp" in a multimedia language.

So far it's been an unqualified success, and tomorrow I'll try the way Internet Explorer implements the language (of course the fact that Microsoft felt a need to do this is evidence of how adverse to anything open source they are).

But if I can make some of this work--I can see possibilities beyond anything I could have imagined; a card for my Nephew, a "MicroMedia" program for one of my other 'Blogs, presentations, ads.

Where is this gonna take me--I have no clue. But I have a feeling that Jacky Bryant's words may be truer than ever:

No Way You Can Stop Me!

  WARNING--THOUGHTS CROSSING
OK, my latest "virtual venture" is learning the elments of a language called XML (think of HTML with a LOT more rules, and a LOT more power).

The idea is to learn how to use a multimedia integration language and make an on-line card for my Nephew's 1st birthday. I'm gonna actually in a few weeks do a kind of "Boot Camp" (I took a day off of work to go home for my Alma Mater's Homecoming, but financial difficulties put the kibosh on that, and this seems like a good use of the time).

Well, if I get the card to work, I may try doing an on-line news program for my Anti-War 'Blog.

If this works--I'll have something I can show at the "Non-Profit" job fair (whenever that is).

But how all of this came together is either a mystery or some sort of synchrnicity.

  6 Months On The Road
Yesterday was a unique anniversary. It was six months ago that I bought my car.

So far, so good. Had a few problems (denting a wheel and a radio that doesn't work too well), but the last 7200 miles have been trouble-free otherwise.

Of course, I wonder how I've racked up so many miles. I haven't gone anywhere farther than Lancaster or York, PA. I guess all those trips to FedEx Ground, inventories, the dojo and the store do add up.

I still await the chance to take my car on something a bit "longer range", but that may need to wait until November.
